We were approached by Norm and Liz, who were remodelling their kitchen. They specifically wanted to retain the original beautiful rimu wood but were seeking a more contemporary design. We removed the original rimu benchtop, stripped it back and re-finished it in polyurethane for durability and to showcase its original natural beauty.
A pantry was added for additional storage and existing cabinetry was repainted in a modern colour. We routered around the hob and inserted black glass as a practical design feature.
We also attached a custom-built black painted glass kick board to the breakfast bar and a glass splashback and toe kicks to complete the makeover.
