Prestige Wood Finishers was recommended to us by friends whose business designs and produces new kitchens and does complete renovations of existing kitchens. This recommendation by someone in the ‘kitchen business’ gave me great confidence in initially approaching Prestige to come out and quote.
The original kitchen was a pretty up market design. I loved the practical layout and the granite and rimu benches, so all I wanted was for the cabinetry which was in a lacquer finish to be restored in an up to date colour and to have a few minor repairs and alterations done. This quote was done 12 months before we actually began, but even when I rang Prestige Wood Finishers to ask if they could come out and re quote, they said the old quote wouldn’t change. Amazing!
The kitchen restoration was part of a total renovation of the inside of our 15 year old home. Just as we were due to start the interior renovations, I was diagnosed with breast cancer – here I’ll do a plug -Ladies get your routine mammograms done, early detection is paramount to a healthy prognosis. As a result I was advised I would need surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy over the next seven months. I rang Cam and explained my situation. I needed to ask if they would be able to work with my ups and downs as I pushed on with my treatment. ‘Work with me!’ I couldn’t have asked for more. Both Cam and Kate showed so much understanding and care of me over this period of time and just set to and got the job done.
In my opinion they treated our restoration as if it was their own kitchen. I believe they went above and beyond what might have been expected of them. We are absolutely thrilled with the finish, quality of workmanship and the amazing service provided by Cam, Kate and their team. We would like to sincerely thank Prestige Wood Finishers and we highly recommend this young couple and the team at Prestige Wood Finishers. We now have what looks like a new kitchen at a fraction of the price of a new one.
